Some impressions from past Summer vacations in Austria

Camera for Summer holiday
I bought a new but cheap action camera for this years summer vacation. It's a JVC GC-XA1, which is also waterproof. It's a bit a of a go-pro competitor, but not quite as picture quality. But for the price i paid (88 Euro) you can't complain. We'll see.

During our summer vacation this year I was browsing the net for interesting places to go for day trips around our vacation spot. As we are close to Italy, Slowenia and Croatia, I remember a TV documentary surrounding the Adriatic sea, and a small village located on the coast in Slovenia, Piran. Then found the link.
Interesting. We are planning on traveling there...maybe we'll meet Obama?

Haus Schluga
This year we are visiting a delightful summer destination from the past. Villach in Austria.
In a past life I spent some time every year in Austria for a long weekend, and combined this business with a summer holiday for the family.
The first year we were a bit apprehensive and scheduled a short holiday. But once we experienced the relaxing atmosphere and brilliant weather of Villach, were hooed, and travel there every year, until 2002.
Our destination was Haus Schluga in Kaernten Austria, near the town of Villach.
For families this is a wonderful place. Park your car and relax for your stay. Spend every day in the garden, playing ping pong, taking a dip in the wonderful lake, having a beer, and simply relaxing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner served everyday, and the people are most friendly.
So, hope our memories of wonderful holidays there do not disappoint. The only caveat this time is that our two oldest, who had wonderful times there are not coming along. But, as i said, this is not a party holiday! Relaxing is the order of the day!
